If a recent report is to be believed, Nintendo might miss their Nintendo NX 20 million assembly target for 2016. The report suggests that component suppliers expect shipments to only reach around 10-12 million units.
Asian news outlet Digitimes, reportsthat assembly complications with the NX, might prevent Nintendo from reaching their initial assembly target of 20 million units globally for 2016. Digitimes, “the device’s upstream component suppliers expect shipments to only reach around 10-12 million units”.
The new console is estimated to enter mass shipments in the second quarter. In addition to Foxconn, suppliers such as Foxconn Technology, Macronix, Pixart Imaging, Coxon Precise Industrial, Nishoku Technology, Delta Technology, Lingsen Precision Industries and Jentech will also supply components for the device.
The news outlet claims that Foxconn has been chosen as the console’s main manufacturer, and a host of other companies supplying the resources to make Nintendo’s upcoming console.
